Navigating Life's Storms

Updated: Apr 26, 2023

One of the fascinating stories in this book relates to the moment Jesus invited Peter to participate in a life-changing miraculous event.

The narrative continues from the story of Jesus feeding a multitude of 5,000 hungry men, women, and children with just a few loaves of bread and fish, with an abundance of leftovers. After this remarkable event, Jesus sent His disciples on a boat ahead of Him to cross the Sea of Galilee while He dismissed the crowd and went up a mountain to pray.

A fierce storm erupted as night fell, causing the waves to become tumultuous and the winds to blow strongly. As dawn approached, Jesus decided to walk on water to reach His disciples. At first, the disciples were terrified, mistaking Jesus for a ghost. But Jesus, knowing their fear, comforted them by saying, “Take courage. I am here!” Everyone was amazed except Peter, who asked Jesus to command him to come out and walk on water.

Jesus replied, “Yes, come.” Peter stepped out of the boat and began walking toward Jesus. As long as Peter kept his gaze fixed on Jesus, he could walk on water, despite the storm raging around him. Peter’s faith in following Jesus out onto the water was truly remarkable. He did not act on his own accord but requested Jesus to command him to come.

This is the central theme of this book. Through the stories of Jesus, you will learn how to stop relying on the world or yourself as the source of truth and hope. Instead, you will learn to reach up to Jesus, the God who created you for a purpose for good, to navigate life’s storms.
